Spare tire
Spare tire
My front tire went out on me today
I already ordered a brand new set of 245 45 19's online, The tires will be here next week.
I didn't want to buy at the locall tire shop's because they charged me 400 a piece.
How long can I have the car sit on the spare tire? Im concerned about the weight that is put on the spare. Any tips? suggestions??

I think the spare is limited as to what it can do and for how long. I believe it's something like less then 55 mph and less then 50 miles. If you can wait till 1pm (eastern) I can checkout my owners manual and let you know.
"When driving with one of the dissimilar spare tires listed above, do not:
• Exceed 50 mph (80 km/h)
• Load the vehicle beyond maximum vehicle load rating listed on the
Safety Compliance Label"
Just be careful out there.
Take it easy and you can get way with over a week on the spare.

Around here (and I am sure everywhere) I see people driving at 70+ on those tiny temporary spares. Whenever I come up on one of these idiots I give them as much space as I can until I can get around them. From experience, (a friend, not me!), those tires will blow if you hit a rut at those speeds. Not pretty! Just be mindful of how fast you drive on it and the road conditions.
