Sorry, couldn't wait for my order...
Well, I was just browsing forddirect.com at work, and I noticed some available GT manuals in the Bay Area, so I decided to go take a look this weekend. I had much trouble deciding between Tungsten and Black when ordering back in June, but I ordered a Tungsten because of the lower maintenance required. However, after seeing the Black GT up close and personal, WOW! I couldn't resist. My dealer in Southern CA was giving me the run-around with X-plan anyways, so I said, "what the heck", and bought me a NEW car! Just seeing the black made me want to wash it everyday! I have always had black cars, and "Once you go Black..."
Btw, for those of you in the Bay Area and not wanting to pay a $5,000 premium, There are 2 GT manual coupes, 1 P. White and 1 Black, in stock at James Ford in Half Moon Bay. Also, 1 black gt manual conv. Just call (650) 726-4496 and ask for Sean Johnson. Tell him Patrick (the guy who just bought the Black GT) sent you. Also, let him know you won't pay more than MSRP and you can drive it away (a nice drive, by the way). Now I understand why you guys talk about that ear-to-ear grin! Let the mods begin...

Hey, no second guessing your instincts. I know it feels like you gave in (I feel that way). But you get to enjoy her now and black is a classic color! You can't go wrong with black.
The same thing happened to me. I got the run around in getting a VIN and build date and found one just like I wanted in Houston (for just a bit more money). Pulled the trigger and now I have my GT safe at home! Couldn't be happier.
Congrats again and keep us up to date on how the mods go! What do you plan to do first?

Congrats! Enjoy.
There is too much crap in the air here for me to own a black car. Althought I always opt for a Black Interior. I do like the Tungsten very much and that would have been my first choice, but we could not wait it out.
