Well I had an 05gt and now an 06gt and the tank fills up the same. Sometimes it clicks a little if it does I flip the nozzle over and it works fine. but most of the gasoline places it works without clicking. Both take about 15-16 gallons. Good luck but yes they should be the same size tank. later

I had a similiar problem on my first fill-up. Got half way and couldn't get any more gas in. Tried a second station across the street - same thing.

Went to the office. At lunch time, tried a different station. As suggested somewhere on this forum, filled it slowly - no problem. Have been back to that same station four or five times with no further problems. Keep meaning to go back to the other stations.

There is something wrong with the fuel filler design, that's for sure. I'm very surprised that the '07s still have the problem. It's one of those little annoying things (like the no-memory seat back and 19th century antenna) that keep the Mustang from being world-class. I love it anyway, but these are glitches that just shouldn't happen these days on a new car.

Anyone have any Ford engineering contacts?

Bwahahahahahahaha! I needed that laugh for the crappy night I just had! Anyway the real culprit is the pumps with too much pressure. There is a crook in the filler tube that creates a vapor-lock and shuts off the pump and even splashes gas back at ya. There is a TSB on this from the `05`s. All they do is replace the tank and even those have the same problem. If you are not allowed to pump your own gas , I have no good suggestion for you , except get the SCTII and Brenspeed tunes.

US vs. Imperial Gallons

While the volume of one compared to the other unit certainly explains the difference in gallons it takes to fill up, it has nothing to do with the gas mileage calculation your computer reads. I'm thinking your car's processor is calibrated to US gallons and is giving you fuel consumption in miles/ US gal. accordingly. It has no clue how many Imperial gallons you've used since it's not part of the program. Your mpg calculations are what they are.
[quote=G.T;587202]i almost missed that one.. i guess you are right after all..
16 US gallons == 13.33 imperial gallons..
and uhh..
that drops my mpg calculations from 12.5 to 10.9.. and from 14.2 to 12.5!
