Small town vs. Big City
I ordered mine on 09/21 from a very small town dealer since all the ones near me (Chicago) were either blowing me off or acting very shady. I got a great price but was wondering if I will get mine much later because of the small town factor or does it make a difference. When I ordered the salesman stated 6-8 wks. however I'm think i might get it much later. Any response would be a big help!!!!!!
Seems to be pure dumb luck on who gets their cars. SOme who placed their orders the first day the order bank ordered opened at high volume dealers dont have them yet. Others who ordered rather recently from smaller dealers got theirs already. Just place an order and hope get lucky
After my last experience buying a mustang, I will always buy from a small town dealer. I did my research, found out what the cost was, etc...
The dealer in the City (Bennot Dunlop Ford in Regina SK) flatly told me, that they don't let any car out the door for the price I offered them. I told them what I was willing to pay, and they could either make some money (I offered 800 over invoice) or no money. The sales manager came and took over from my salesman, and explained how he had a wife and kids to feed. I told him, that it wasn't my business if his wife and kids starved. He politely asked me to leave, and come back when I calmed down.
Needless to say, I went back to the small town dealer, in the home town where I grew up. I made the same offer to the ford dealer there. He accepted on the spot, and my car was ordered that afternoon. He told me it would take 2 months, and it came in, in about 7 weeks. No regrets. When this car is off its lease in april, I plan on order my 05 though them as well.

I also ordered from a small dealership on June 2 and took possession on 10/19. I traveled around 55 miles to get my car and at that time the local dealerships here did not have one. I know I got better service buying from a smaller dealership. They seemed to really care about their customers.
