Woohoo! First topic post.

My Brother rented a 2003 (I think it was) mustang when he went up to Las Vegas and said the handling was a bit sluggish compared to his Plymouth Lazer (Mitsubishi Eclipses' Sister Car). Since he likes to race a lot, he likes the handling to be a bit tighter... and my mercedes-benz also has relativly tight handling.

I know the 2005 is being totally re-done and was curious, for those people who have driven the V6 (or V8 if they have similar handling) if the handling is tight, tighter, a bit sluggish, really sluggish, or your opinion overall.

I was also curious about 1 more thing... he mentioned the automatic's gear shifting wasn't as good vs some other japanese or asian made cars (mentioned Honda and Acura I think it was).... has that changed from the previous mustang model?... (I thought I read somewhere that was redone...)

Thanks for any answers you can give, and sorry if its been posted before!

Its hard to tell without numbers, your behind lies too you. A lot of little imports 'hopped up" with rock hard suspension FEEL like they handle well but do not in reality.

Along the same lines,

The Mustang is a heavier car, so it "feels" not as fast and quick through the turns.

About the auto. It is now a 5 speed instead of 4 speed. It should be pretty good, but I don't have any data to compare and I haven't driven it. Just letting you know the difference.
