I don't know man. I am paying $300 more than that for a GT Premium vert. Not that you want a vert, but they are supposed to be about $5000 more expensive. Seems like you should be able to get a lot better price than that.

Personally I would expec you will see a 2006 now. It's getting down to the wire for 2005 models so if it came to a choice, that's a lot of money that could go to a super charger, wheels, stripes, whatever. It's just time.....Wait and it will come and be EXACTLY what you wanted (and maybe newer). Just hang in there.

I must say I agree with OBleedingMe on this one. There is no reason that dealers should be marking up. If nobody paid these ridiculous mark ups, then dealers would stop doing it. Arioch, I'm not saying that you did anything wrong here, but just that if you and others refused to do this, this wouldn't be happening. Now, I realize that there is always going to be someone that is willing to pay more for something they really want, but in the original poster's case, the car with the markup is NOT exactly what he wanted. The only way I would say to even begin to consider this would be if it is the exact car you want. Otherwise you'll regret paying over MSRP and not have the exact car that you wanted down the road.

Hey, its America and you can do whatever you want, so those of you that are willing to pay over MSRP, more power to you, and you should be thankful that you're in a financial situation that allows you to do that.

I say no to mark ups.

Fact in our world.

"A fool and his money, are soon parted."

"Easy come easy go."

"I like it, I want it now, I don't care what it costs."

To eaches own, we are all different.

If people would drive less, would the price of gasoline go down?

I personally wouldn't, I have every option and paid less than that paying MSRP.

I guess what it comes down to is how bad do you want the car now!, if you can wait and an 06 is ok possibly, or do you need an 05 this week? Like some others say you may be able to find one on a lot somewhere that isn't charging that much over, but it might cost you to go pick it up if its 1/2 way across the country.

Most will say don't pay it, but it comes down to you and the "need it now factor" and this is what the dealers know and why they charge more

Do not compromise.................... I want one to and have orderd one but it will likly get rolled over to a 2006 maybe they will have some of the things worked out that I have been reading about. The only way you should compromise is IF you get a killer deal and its what you can live with not what you dont want and over priced..................

Wow... I guess it's easy for guys with cash to blow to make it harder for the common consumer to get a GT at a reasonable price! A big :notnice: for giving in to dealer greed!! I really don't know how you can say paying a 2.1k markup is a "reasonable tradeoff." You'll never, and I mean NEVER, get that money back. Wow... just wow... and people wonder why there are so many markups...
I hope no one on here bought a car hoping to "get their money back". You don't buy a car to "get your money back", you buy it to enjoy. It's all a matter of how much you want the car. Some would argue that it is worth the extra money to be driving one NOW and for the next several months, rather than waiting for one you might not get. And let's not forget about the price increase from 05 to 06. It also seems we have alot of psychics on here who can see into the future and tell what the resale value will be. Can I get some lotto numbers? Please don't buy a car for the "resale value"; buy it for the personal value. I'm certain Arioch does not regret his purchase, and he is driving his car NOW, while some "wait".

Sean, are you still in Iraq? If so, when are you coming back? I personally would wait for what you want especially if you are still driving around Iraq in that HMMV. Thanks for your service by the way(I'm former Army if ya can't tell by my avatar) and be safe as possible. :usa: :tex:

If there is no Shaker does that mean it is a Deluxe W/O IUP?

That is really gouging.

What is MSRP on the car? I would offer the dealer $1000 over if it is still there AND if the car is close enough to what you want to make you happy...
