There Seem to Be a lot of opinions here and there about Retrofitting Shelby or Version Package Pieces as They become Available. There will be GT/CS and Maybe MACH1 or Bullit Versions in the Future. What is Everybodies Opinion on Taking these Future Pieces on putting them on the 05/06 Models which did not have the Benefit of the VERSION pieces. Would you Simply Use the Components to Upgrade/ Or would you go ahead and use the Badges Also? Would you be Opposed to doing this at all? Lets keep it nice and civil and express ourselves without undue emotion.

I would not use the badges, etc from SEs or Shelby on my 05 GT. If I wanted a SE that bad, I'd find a way to get a real one. Dark Highland Green on the other hand......

I might borrow a select part/styling cue or two if I liked it, but I would not try to reproduce a SE or badge it as that.

Exclamation

I might add performance parts from the SEs (brakes, suspension, etc.) -no badges or body work... I prefer the sleeper approach.

I wouldn't use an SE badging on my car in anyway. However, I might use some parts from one. If I wanted to have a SE I woulda waited to buy it that way. It's all the fun in researching and building it myself. Besides when the GT 500 comes out, no one is gonna look at the GT like they do now. Which gives it more sleeper appeal.

I might add some of their performance or appearence parts but I wouldn't rebadge my car as a SE.

Not only would I not put any on my GT, but if I were lucky enough to have a new Shelby, I'd REMOVE parts. That has got to be the ugliest rear spoiler on the market. And if they go with that 2nd hood design, it would be the second thing I'd take off.
They could've done a LOT better!!

I love the look of the Shelby front end. I would use it but leave my GT emblems. I have always loved the look of all SVT front ends. The round fogs look smooth.

I tend to side with those folks that think since it's their car they can do whatever they want to it. If I like some of the parts and can afford them, I might use them.

This has been a huge topic for the 65-70 shelbys over the last few years. Only difference I guess is the value and people trying to pass them off as real shelby's. Think that will happen in 30 years? I think the front grille of the new shelby's is cool. I would do it if it didn't cost a fortune. Not the badges though. I would hate to lift the hood and have everyone see a 4.6 when it should be the 5.4. I had a press car (shelby) over at my house this fall and they did blow it with the hood. I was told it had clearance issues. It was a convertible, the one that will be in Car and Driver at Ford's track. So, yes with no badges....

Agreed. I would repace my GT front end with the Shelby's, but no badging.

Maybe some performance - but not the 07 and beyond badging. Some retro badging? Not shelby, but I've already put a 68 Script emblem on the dash. I'd like to swap out the GT emblems for the 68s as well. Nothing there is false advertisement - and it makes mine different.

I would never put fake badges on my car. I will use performance parts and styling cues from other Mustangs. But never badges.

If I ever had the means ($$$), I'd like to use the GT500's front end and hood (concept version). Other possible SE parts as well (mix and match). Also would use the 6spd transmission, brakes, and suspension hardware. If they look good enough, maybe wheels too. No badges. No "cloning" either.
