I ordered my wife a Performance White GT with the 5 speed for her birthday. It came in today and we picked it up tonight after a 3 month wait. She put the first sixty miles on it - but then she let me take it for a drive. I put about 12 miles on it. Not much - but I definitely came away with some impressions that were a bit surprising.

I was suprised at how "raw" or "brutal" it was. I wasn't expecting that. The growl you could hear from inside as I was going through the gears was cool. Reminded me of my old '65 2+2 with the pumped-up 289. But this '05 is a lot nicer inside, drives lighter, and is smoother. It's going to be tough to be around this car for the next bunch of years without having full access.

I'd have to give up my Beemer. I don't think I could do that.

Now...if I could get my hands on a GT 500 next year...

Let me get this straight. You purchased her a car for her b/day with your hard earned cash and you won't have "full access" to it for a number of years?? Sounds like someone is whipped. Better not let my bride see this post....lol
