I haven't had mine come undone from the magnet. It works fine. I also don't have any problems grabbing the seat belt to put it on.

They should have used a "rare" earth magnet instead of those wimpy ones. Depending on the position of the seat (reline) they always come loose.

To be honest it bothers me more that the seat back doesn't return to
it previous position after being raised to access the rear seat.

Also I don't have any problems reaching the belt, provided I look
for it in the right place.

I just went out and looked at my seat belt and I still have no idea what you guys are talking about. I don't see a magnet anywhere.

HAHAHAA thats funny, I wondered what that little strap was for, I just reach behind me and grab the belt.

Agree I think the whole magnet, strap thing is pretty pointless

Thanks for the link. The first time I had seen that it was hanging and I thought it was just for ornamentation.

Actually, the first time I saw it I was mad. I thought something had broken on my seat already. Then I realized it was magnetic.

I'd just do what someone in that linked thread did. Go out and by a better magnent to augment the one they have. That should solve your problems if you want to use it. I don't have mine yet so I haven't mucked with it. But it only cost the other guy $2.25 and viola problems solved.

I like it! It's much better than the over the shoulder holder that twisted the belt.

Oh, that's what those are for. I never had a problem grabbing the belt, but I guess that's an advantage of having long arms.

The magnets could be stronger, but I've had very little trouble with them. This was after I read the manual and realized what they were for. The salesman told me that they were just for "decoration"?!? Too busy selling cars to do a little homework I guess.

ps. If you have problems reaching the belt, stop reaching for the calzones.

Mine works fine. The only times it has ever come loose is when I let the seat all the way up or one of my kids hit it getting in the car.

Works great for me. I second Tread's thought: It's only a problem when you move the seat forward for people to get in the back, then the magnet lets go. I think this is a good thing, 'cause if it were an actual snap, the snap would probably be too great a positive "lock" and I'd be willing to bet that the snap would actually break off the seat over time, than a slight inconvience of redoing the magnetic snap.

Works fine for me. You could also replace the magnet with a heavy duty snap from a fabric or marine store...
