Seat belt magnetic straps - worthless !
To be honest it bothers me more that the seat back doesn't return to
it previous position after being raised to access the rear seat.
Also I don't have any problems reaching the belt, provided I look
for it in the right place.

here's the link to another thread that discussed this... someone posted a picture there.

Thanks for the link. The first time I had seen that it was hanging and I thought it was just for ornamentation.
Actually, the first time I saw it I was mad. I thought something had broken on my seat already. Then I realized it was magnetic.

I'd just do what someone in that linked thread did. Go out and by a better magnent to augment the one they have. That should solve your problems if you want to use it. I don't have mine yet so I haven't mucked with it. But it only cost the other guy $2.25 and viola problems solved.
The magnets could be stronger, but I've had very little trouble with them. This was after I read the manual and realized what they were for. The salesman told me that they were just for "decoration"?!? Too busy selling cars to do a little homework I guess.
ps. If you have problems reaching the belt, stop reaching for the calzones.

but funny as heck!
Works great for me. I second Tread's thought: It's only a problem when you move the seat forward for people to get in the back, then the magnet lets go. I think this is a good thing, 'cause if it were an actual snap, the snap would probably be too great a positive "lock" and I'd be willing to bet that the snap would actually break off the seat over time, than a slight inconvience of redoing the magnetic snap.
