SCT Xcalibrator 2 Tuner Question
SCT Xcalibrator 2 Tuner Question
What is the difference between the Xcalibrator 2 Custom Flash tool (9400) and the SF Startegy Flash device (9415)?
Can either tool be used to load custom tunes from the tuners?

No, the flash device comes with pre-loaded tunes from SCT. The X-Cal, as it comes from SCT, has no tunes, but your tuner can load it with custom tunes.
I'm not entirely sure about this next part, but I think you can upload the firmware in the flash device to make it compatible with custom tunes. But once you do that, the SCT tunes are gone.

What about a device called an SCT Xcalibrator 2 SF (model 9415)? Is it an Xcal or SF? Anyone from from the tuners care to answer these questions? Bamachips or Brenspeed or ?

Live Load 3
Application: 9400 XCalibrator 2 Flash DeviceLive Load is used to upload custom tune files sent from your SCT Dealer to the XCalibrator 2. This program can also be used to update your 9400 Xcalibrator Custom Tuned device with end user adjustability or convert your SF Strategy Flash device to an XCalibrator 2. You must receive the *.LL3 file from your custom tuning dealer to program the User Adjustability to your XCalibrator 2. Note: Converting your SF Device to an XCalibrator 2 is a ONE-WAY operation, and you cannot go back to the Pre-Loaded SF Flash Device. The reason I asked these questions is that a friend of mine is offering me his used SCT Xcalibrator 2 SF for $100. A deal too good to pass up. He returned his Ford Lightning to stock so the Xcal is unlocked.
Now one final question:
What do I have to do to use this device on my car? Just purchase tunes from a tuner for my car? Anything else?
Thanks,
Martin
