Scarce GT's in MI
I don't know that they have control over it, because when the cars were first hitting the lots I'd call them up and say, Hey, I see you have a ...whatever... and they'd go, "Really?" They hadn't seen the update, and the car wasn't even there yet. Now cars ordered via a plan will not show up.
If you're talking about forddirect.com, all of the above is true. If you're talking about the dealer's individual website, then they don't have to list it (since they definitely control the content of that one).

Thanks for all the imput! Makes me feel a little better to know the 100 GT's at Villa Ford are spoken for. Wondered at the time, why they all were base model with charcoal interiors.
Seems sort of funny it came up as dealer inventory, if it isn't for sale to the public.

I don't know. GT's are just as scarce in SW FL. I stated in an earlier thread, Fords ordering system stinks. I know this is different than what you're saying, but... It would be better if 'custom' orders were pulled in the order they were placed, and Ford saved the allocation crap for the 'lot' cars.

What if the customer could order directly from Ford rather than going through a dealership? Wouldn't they be able to seperate them then?
I know I had to wait 3 months for mine to come in. I live in New Jersey and got mine about 3 weeks ago. My brother works for Ford and he said they do have alot out there he just relocated to the Detroit area, but are 20.000 units behind on the GT's. I have not seen many out here.
I live in the St. Louis area, and I've seen two or three GTs on the road, and one already sold one in a dealer showroom. The dealers get V6s in ones and twos, but most have only seen a single GT, if any at all. I spoke to a salesman today, telling him that I am signed up for the '05 Pony Drive, but having a hard time waiting until June 11. He said MSRP is the best he can do, but even if I ordered a GT today (Jan. 30), he wouldn't guarantee it's arrival before June! He said X-plan on a GT in June was the best deal he had heard of, and I should stick with it. At last count there were 83 signed up, and Ford is limiting participation to 101. Sign up while you can!
My wife and I ordered a GT back at the beginning of December. We were sick of waiting because we were left with only one car. Our dealer, Grand Ledge Ford, had a similar one on the lot (I actually liked it better). We went ahead and took that one off the lot last week and cancelled our order.
It was the only GT they had on the lot, and I haven't seen any other ones driving around the Lansing, MI area.
