If you guys are not planning on driving your cars for at least 3 months, you might want to consider using fuel stabilizer.

Good advice....and already done!

I felt like that would be the best thing to do since I'm not going to be at home for a few months. If thats too much what do you recommend. I'm open to suggestions.
I can help you out, just let me have it for a few months in Florida.Just a suggestion ha ha ha

If you are putting the car away you should have left the old oil in it. You are going to have to change the oil once you get it out of storage and it won't be any better having new oil sitting in the oil pan. You are just wasting money on extra oil.

When I said I was putting mine in the shop, I meant my shop/garage. I am lucky enough to have a nice place to keep my car inside. I have worked very hard for this and I want to take extremly good care of it. If some of what I am doing to her this winter seems a little extreme, then I guess thats your opinion. But I take great pride in taking care of the things I work hard for.

I'm going to take care of my Mustang, baby it, wash it, clean it, and polish it. I'm also going to drive the snot out of it everyday no matter what the weather, all year round, 'cuz it's my car. When it loses its shine or starts rusting, I'll either restore it or just buy a new stang! Hopefully Ford will keep things going and continue to improve on our beloved model. Have you seen the threads on the possible new engines? The aftermarket will no doubt continue to offer cool stuff. I already can't wait for the next one!

We get some snow and ice here in northern Virginia most winters, but that's why I kept the Jeep!

I plan on driving my GT every day that there's dry (or mostly so) pavement! :drive:

Thats the thing alot of people don't understand about me, I would rather have my car than a ferrari or lambo. If I was given a ferrari I would sell it and buy a stang with every single thing I wanted for it, then save the rest. I drive a mustang because it's the car I love and I guarantee that I love my car more than most ferrari owners love theirs. I think it says more for the mustang that it is easily accesible and mass produced, and can be desired more than high end exotics by some people.
Of course I could be completely insane......but I don't think so
me neither.
Gotta go with Stoic21 here. It most certainly is NOT ,"Just a car". I am trying to buy a 95 Cobra to drive as " a beater" to save the 05.

I'm with Stoic21 and MY05GT as well.
I've had my '66 for seven years and it has never seen a drop of rain.
The '05 will be no different.
They both go in the stable on Octber 1st and come out on May 1.
I have used this storage procedure for 27 years.

I will be able to tell someone if I go to sell it, that is has never seen one drop of rain. Doesn't sit in the sun and was maintained to the highest level possible.

There's nothing wrong with wanting to take care of your car. I don't understand why this is so annoying to others.

Winter forecast for Omaha today = 3 inches of snow

Driving your kick butt Mustang everyday no matter what the weather = PRICELESS
Yeah, I know rust blah salt blah rocks blah. I saw how disappointed Chip Foose was when he did that Mustang and it didn't have any rust on it, and I just couldn't do that to him.

In ten years we'll all be flying jet cars anyway
Ah...Another Omaha driver. Papillion here. I plan to drive mine year around. Just frequent weekly washing to cut down on sand/salt/brine for me.

Love your car.

Rich; stabilizer and only half a tank not full of gas right?

Recommend a Full Tank of Stabilized Gas.
Stops the Condensation in the Tank.

Oh yea........ I have seen it and think about it often when I'm away from home, I make every attempt to keep her safe thru out this winter, up on jack stands, lock the doors, hide the keys, change the lock code for the door opener........ luckily I'm the only gearhead in my family!

The moth ***** help keep the mice out they don't seem to like the smell and you can use a cling free sheet thats ment for your dryer ,that works as good and you car will have a nice smell in the spring
As for me my stang was put away 2 months ago, fresh oil change ,stabilizer, cling free sheet ,wax job, leather treatment and car cover .
It will be like Christmas in the spring ...just un-wrap and go!

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner Donna, I have read on several posts about storing for th winter, that the Mothballs are great for helping deal with mice and other rodents......
