Today was the day I have dreaded for awhile, my baby went into my shop for the last time until spring........ She will hybernate with a fresh coat of wax, wheels off the ground, a fresh oil change, plastic underneath with moth *****, and a trickle charge on the battery........

Thank God I live in Sunny South Texas. (WAAaaay south texas)

10 miles from mexico/us border.
Only put my heater on 2 times in the past 2 years.
Has only snowed 1 time in over 100 yrs.
It hardly rains.

BUT, on the flip side. The heat-soak factor, humidity and sea-level makes for track heck Best i've run is a 13.8 with exhaust, pullies, tune, intake and 4:10's.

Dude, the 05/06 stangs are not exotics like Ferraris or Lamborghinis. I think mothballing it for the entire season in Kentucky is carrying it a little too far. I could may be understand if you live in Anchorage or something like that but c'mon

I felt like that would be the best thing to do since I'm not going to be at home for a few months. If thats too much what do you recommend. I'm open to suggestions.

Yea I agree with a lot of folks. I keep my mustang in the garage so to keep it save. But taking it to a shop while you are out, that is too much.

Mine got to the dealer yesterday. I will likely bring it straight home and put it away until spring. Unless I get a trailer, I'm going to get it wet on the way home. Nothing but wind, rain and snow here for the next few days. We all put them away here and will see them again in March.

You want to get a trailer for your stang coz of rain ????

OMFG, now I've heard everything !!

Some of you have to realize, it's a stang - a mass produced car !!

C'mon folks, let's get real.

We're not talking about a Ferrari Enzo here.

It's a nice car for sure but scared to get it wet - oh, please.

I don't quite understand, if someone doesn't want to drive it in the winter because of salt or some other reason. So what. I for one want to keep the car forever, if it's worth nothing so what, I **never plan to sell it**

Why would I want it a rust bucket in 10-15 years. I have other junkers for that.

Mine is going in the garage in a storage bag. With the other two cars as daily drivers they will bring a lot of moisture into the garage. The bag and a few bags of desiccant will keep it dry like its in Arizona. I know it's not an exotic but I have seen what proper storage can do for a car up here. They dump tons of salt here in chicago. In 10 years it will look like the day I drove it home. Rain is a different story. I don't mind the rain but that salt really kills metal. Once it is mixed with the snow/slush and gets thrown up and sticks to anything. Once it is in the garage and it starts to melt it spreads further and the reaction to metal starts. Then back out for more build up, freeze, thaw etc. This Mustang is on a no salt diet forever!

Winter forecast for Omaha today = 3 inches of snow
4 Dunlop M3 snow tires = $350
Driving your kick butt Mustang everyday no matter what the weather = PRICELESS

Yeah, I know rust blah salt blah rocks blah. I saw how disappointed Chip Foose was when he did that Mustang and it didn't have any rust on it, and I just couldn't do that to him.

In ten years we'll all be flying jet cars anyway

Thats the thing alot of people don't understand about me, I would rather have my car than a ferrari or lambo. If I was given a ferrari I would sell it and buy a stang with every single thing I wanted for it, then save the rest. I drive a mustang because it's the car I love and I guarantee that I love my car more than most ferrari owners love theirs. I think it says more for the mustang that it is easily accesible and mass produced, and can be desired more than high end exotics by some people.

Of course I could be completely insane......but I don't think so

me neither.

If you guys are not planning on driving your cars for at least 3 months, you might want to consider using fuel stabilizer.
