I sense a mod coming on. I'm going to change mine to a black metalic rubber band.

From what I read this "rubber" band was the only REAL documented delay on 2005's. It all started because American bands were better made but Japanese bands were just beginning to speak perfect English. Oh well (long story short), by the time the GT rolled around these bands were popping-up everywhere... including under new Mustang hoods.
The 2006's have a built-in pesticide that keeps them from reproducing, even though their English is much better than it used to be and most of their rifs came from the American "hair bands" of the early 80's. .

I present to you the man that saved the Ford Mustang production by donating
his creations twin sister to the slaughter to hold our cars together.

P.S. Also this bring up the question about the popping people here while turning at slow speeds. <pop> <pop> <pop>

I've followed this thread through the week and decided that it is without a doubt the silliest thread on the Forum!
I've also decided that it is the funniest and most enjoyable thread as well! So I went out and checked my car too. Alas, no rubber band in sight - just a bunch of AC hoses and the odd wire or two.
It's a GT and an early car (#2117) - soooo maybe the rubber band is a field upgrade later in the production run? Can I expect a TSB to specify rubber band installation, maybe?
hee hee hee hee hee . . .
LOL!!!
