You think there might be something more reliable than Ford Factory SC?

Its not reliable because its not made for the gt and there is no official kit to apply it to the mustang gt and you have to get it dyno tuned ... oppose to buying a Roush or Saleen supercharger with factory warranty on the blower and a safe tune... im not saying the gt 500 blower is not reliable im talking more about the tune and how do u add a custom tune if tour doing the work yourself

A custom tune is by far the best tune to get if you're going to get a tune at all. I wouldn't trust a mail order tune. Now if you have the extra $3000 for a Roush or Ford kit by all means go for it. There are four or five of these on the street in the last week alone and all have had custom tunes and all the tuners said it was a piece of cake to tune after all it is all Ford GT500 parts just put on the 4.6l motor. They are making between 440 and 500 hp depending on the pulley and other mods.

I do agree that a custom on site dyno tune is the best tune for both performance and reliability (which depends on the tuner). The Roush and Saleen tunes are the best if your buying them because you mail in your PCM for them to tune your car. Although it may be conservitive you can bet its the most reliable one out there.

Thats awesome that they are on the street and the tuner said it was easy to do but I rather pay the extra money for a 90 day Roush Warrenty and a complete kit instead of peiceing it together. Again I will be installing myself and if I went the gt500 supercharger route then I would have to get the car towed to a shop to tune which cost more money. Even if it is around 3500 to do and you have to pay money for the tune your probably looking at 4000-4500k for everything and 4500- 5300 for people who are not installing it themselves.

I am going to go with the Roush TVS soon and the only down fall to me is that I cant use my cams and I have to put the cats back on. But after I finish selling everything later in the year I will get forged internals and custom tune the car to make close to or a little over 500rwhp and I will be happy with that for a daily driver.

Very happy with the TVS. I lost some money on my initial bolt ons though. (GT500 TB, UD Pulleys, Steeda delete plugs, CAI) I should have thought it through better from the beginning. Oh well ~ happy now, well soon as I get the new clutch installed.

Awesome... do you know what she does at the quarter mile?... just found out I need a custom tune because Roush does not make it for the automatic stangs

Contacted Brenspeed and they seem to have the best kit available with all extras.. its a bit more money but im going to map out everything.. I care more about hitting and staying at mid to high 11's and being happy with it... if I can achieve that with full bolt ons and a torque converter and spend less money then ill do that

Once I finish some paint work on my car I will be driving up to Loudon NH for my pulley swap and re-tune. I will post up th new numbers once all dialed in. Not sure what part of NY, but a phone call to Pete Johnson @ Performance Dyno in Loudon may be worth it for some answers to your tuning questions. Pete work wonders, all in house. He can be reached at 603-226-3278

Thanks for the info.. I am going to get the kit from brenspeed along with the tune just waiting to get a chance to do this.. from what I went over with brenspeed this kit is reliable and safe for the daily driver with 520 flywheel hp... plus they have a finance option which makes it a lot easier

I wish I had a forged bottom end to upgrade the pulley but that's down the line
