Replacing GT fog and headlamps with other bulbs
Has anyone experimented with using 9005 or 9006s in their GT's foglamps?
I have a lighting catalog and it appears the 9145 (H10) foglamps are rated for 45W/3.52A and have 65 candlepower with a lifespan of 1000 hours.
It just so happens that the 9006 (low-beam) is 55W/4.3A and has 80 candlepower with a lifespan of 500-1000 hours. The filament type is the same as the H10 (C8).
The 9005 (high-beam) is 65W/5.0A with 136 candlepower and 150-700 hour lifespan, and has the same C-8 filament.
I'm not sure if the bases are the same, but they appear to have the same tangs and what not.
The other alternative is 9155, they are designed as fog lamps and have 75 candlepower with 1200 hour lifespan and appear to have comparable dimensions as the 9145/H10.
Edited to add: Doing a google search shows that people have tried this with varying results. The higher wattage 9005s may overheat the lamp housings

On the headlamps, the catalog shows the standard H13/9008s as having 119.4 cp high, and 79.60 cp low, with a 1000 hour lifespan for the low beams and 250 hour lifespan for the high beams, designed for 12.80 V.
The catalog shows ECE (UNECE or E-code) H13/9008s as having 135.3 cp high and 87.50 cp low, but are designed for 13.20V.
Has anyone seen ECE or E-code H13/9008s for sale?

Yes I have, until I saw the price of the Saleen kit.
I heard from those with the FMVSS / SAE compliant 35W HIDs that the HIDs don't really shine farther or as efficiently like the UNECE compliant HIDs (65W?).

Reminds me of the same trick that I use on my Ranger - it came from the factory with 9145s in the fogs. If you trim one of the tabs on 9005 bulb, it'll fit in the fog light housing.
