This link may explain why some of us got the recall while others didn't. It says they were mostly doing the recall in areas with high humidity.

This is correct. The airbag company has been trying to limit the scope of this recall with this facetious arguement. It fails to take into account how people move around, and the reality that several injuries/fatalities occurred in states that do not fit the particular "high humidity" criteria.

I believe NTSB is going to force the issue, and a lot more of us will be getting these recalls.

My son received a Safety Recall Notice from Ford back on Nov. 4th or so for his 2006 V6 . The car is registered in FL, however he's in Kansas City, MO attending Med school at KCUMB. He took the car into the local Ford dealership. Based on his car's VIN only the driver's side airbag had to be replaced. Supposedly, the passenger side airbag didn't have to be replaced because it was a V6. Both airbags would've likely beeen replaced if it was a V8.

Deysha, does the above sound correct?

This is correct, SoFlaBoss. Dealers are to replace the driver (Mustang) or both (Ford GT and Ranger) front airbag inflators.

"Currently there are no recalls for your vehicle."

Does this mean that 2005 models aren't affected?

Nope, mine's an 05 and I received mine a couple of weeks ago. The link I posted above says it's currently in area's with high humidity, not sure where you live, but I'm in So Fla.

No, mrkabc. This only means there are no recalls on your vehicle at this time.
