I just got my 06 GT (Shelby tribute) out and about and ran into a friend who has a Box Stock 05 V-6, no mod's save a mustang script along the rocker panel.

He stopped and wanted to see my new ride and we talked about stuff..I mentioned the forum and how helpful it was for modding and stuff. He wanted to do some mods to his engine and wondered about a CAI for his and a tune.

As we talked, a couple drove up and went on and on about the mustang...........his mustang.

Well, I was happy for him and I got a needed dose of reality. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. After a day of getting heads to turn while driving around in my ride, I realized that it is true different strokes for different folks. That God he did not drive a chevy

Not that there is a problem with the V-6 stang....just not to my liking. Heck, the V-6 has more HP than my V-8 289 2V back in '68. :worship:

Funny, I would have been looking at yours as well. Partly because I don't need to look at a V6... I already know what they look like. Partly because I prefer the GT look to the V6 (foglights are for me). Partly because yours has lots of mods and I'd be looking at this to get an opinion of them.

But given a person that knows nothing about the new Mustang (or what "GT" means, etc), then I can see why someone might look at the V6 as much as the GT. The generally awesome body style is the same (though I never have liked the lack of foglights) and it is perhaps more conservative, because it doesn't have a chin spoiler, ducktail and gold stripes. So perhaps your car was "too awesome" for them. Or perhaps they couldn't see it, because it was black :-P What color was your friend's V6? If it was LL or Redfire, I could see that being the attention grabber. Though personally I've always thought the black looked amazing, that might not be true for some.

So what was the point of my rambling? Just to say what you said already... that everyone is going to see the cars differently. Don't be disappointed that you didn't grab the attention in this case, because I have a feeling you get it the rest of the time with such a great car.

Well when it comes to looks, IMO there isn't much difference between the GT and V6, so I guess I'd look at the color that I like better.

When it comes to talking performance, well...talk to me about a GT. It's not that the V6's can't perform, it's just that I like to talk about stuff relative to me and my car...

Personally, ANY nice mustang turns my head. I don't care if it's a V6 (which I have) or a GT. They are all awesome. I am in love with all of them!
