Hey guys. I am a veteran member here and I have read all of the threads discussing this. I have, however, heard several different stories on the IUP package hold. Which one is it?

-Is it a temporary delay?
-Are they not making them at all?

What is the real deal?

Thanks again guys,

I know it has been 6 minutes, but this is very urgent as my co-worker is going to order one and needs to know.

Thanks again.

I signed my order today for a V6. After the bad news yesterday I asked him if I could still get I.U.P. if I'm willing to wait even longer to get my car. They saw how dissapointed I was yesterday so in the meantime the Sales Manager called Ford on Friday after I left. He said he was told the reasons why, supply, unexpected demand, etc. He was also told that they had no plans to offer it in the immediate future, & most likely not at all. I don't mean to post contradicting answers & don't want to lead anyone astray. And I don't think anyone here is doing that either. These folks here have been posting a long time & know more than I'll ever, & ARE a huge help. I just wish I could feel sure. I opted for ABS w/Trac.Cont. instead & ordered it. It sure is a let down since I've been drooling over the I.U.P. dash pictures for 6 months now. The worst is in the console. Now I'll have 3 dummy buttons that have no function. Would be 4 if not for the ABS. And untill I see the standard interior in person to judge for myself, I don't feel my friends will be that impressed with the inside as they would have been.

That stinks to hear that, how stupid can these people be? I'd guess the one in charge of estimating the IUP orders drives a green or blue minivan.

V6 manual with IUP will not even be pulled until after 11/14 at the absolute earliest. this is because of the manual transmission start date (11/29), and the IUP hold, which could be even longer

Yeah that's the start date I was given also on my car cause I'm getting manual. I don't mind, gives me more time to put $ away for payments.

I saw a V6 without the IUP today...it still looks great! With the IUP it looks more like a 66-67 interior, without more like a 69-70 interior. Either way looks good, I wouldn't wait to order just based on that.

However, besides the aluminum, you miss the "Message Center", MyColor, and you cannot get the Side Airbags ... if you want it, wait.

That's reassuring to hear Andy, thanks. LOL I've been staring at the photo all day to get psyched into it. at least it has the chrome rings around the gauges. Guess I'll miss the MyColor & the steering wheel treatment the most. might just get one of those dashboard plaques (This car built especially...etc.) to dress up that area in front of the passenger in abscence of the aluminum. Even thinking of Chrome or Flaming Horse grill emblem to put there if it doesn't look tacky.

I still ordered it with the stipulation they add it back if they can, & the dealer is gonna try. Like Grantsdale reminded me, the "Message Center" was a cool & helpful feature I was really looking forward to having also.

Mine is probably in limbo too although I have not heard anything from the dealer specifically. I am definitely waiting. I played with the My Color today on a GT at another dealer - it is soooooooooooooo coooool!!! The sales guy had no clue what I was asking - had to show him the colors and figured out how to work it for him. Duh! BTW - the other features are also great - the computer displays, the alum on the dash and wheel spokes. I'd surely wait!

I think the main part about the IUP for me at least is the fact that you can get side airbags with it. I already have one with side airbags (see sig) but it would be really cool if they would release the 6's with IUP and manuals sometime soon at least.

From: Victoria Canada
My dealer called me and said it would probably be Dec at the EARLIEST for the IUP in the V6. I sent off an email today to Ford Canada asking for clarification on WTF is going on. I told them Ive read all the BS and wanted the truth from the "horses" mouth...PUN INTENDED...If/when I get a response I will post it here. Its BS that they offer something that they don't have. I feel sorry for the dealers that have to deal with all the P.O'd people that are getting the run-a-round about this. Come on Ford, just tell us WTF is going on!!
