Re-oiling Steeda Air Filter

Re-oiling Steeda Air Filter

I rolled over 20k, and its time to clean and re-oil the Steeda CAI airfilter. Keep in mind the filter is blue, the car is blue. The natural product is Steeda kit for $13. But shipping is $12. The K&N kit is $10, but is RED. I checked all three Steeda dealers within 1hr/70 miles, and they all don't stock nor would order it. What would you do? FWIW, the Ford dealer called Shelby tech support and they said to wash it and NOT oil it.

I'd use any referance material on the original seller packaging etc and if Steeda doesn't want to comply by getting it I'd be one to complain then why is it on my car ? take it back and refund me then I can use the money for ex a K&N that has product .

I got the same filter, I brought a 2nd to oil one and have another in the car. It is really a S & B filter and I use this oil.

Filter

Look into the Amsoil Air filter. I switched from the K&N filter to the Amsoil. No oil and filters better than K&N. You clean it every 25,000 miles and replace it at 100,000 miles. And last but not least - it's blue. Mine is #EAAU6065. It's worth looking at.

I've heard several people doing this, you just pick it up at the parts store or did you order it?

I'm in the same boat, any updates on this? I bought my intake used from another member on here with ~30k miles on it so I'd like to re-oil/replace the filter before I install it.

Try buying the Steeda cleaning kit from a dealer that has free shipping. Otherwise, bite the bullet and just buy the stuff from Steeda.

I had to order mine but I did it b/c my car was running rich and the Amsoil filter has a filter part on Top to allow more air; but I didn't even know there was a store which carried it.

Also, I didn't know you don't have to oil it??? So would you use the K&N cleaner on it???
