Radio question
I am getting ready to buy a new Mustang soon and I just have a fairly simple question. Is it hard to add an aftermarket radio? As in, is there any special functions the Shaker Radio is used for? ie) Driver Information Center
I don't think I have seen a 07 Mustang GT with an aftermarket radio. I have looked on here for a bit and Car Domain.

it doesn't matter whether it's an 05 or an 07.. the sound system is unchanged, and the only thing you might miss out on with an aftermarket headunit, is the speed adjusted volume that lets your headunit adjust the volume based on the vechicle speed..
Taking the Shaker 500 into consideration, the headunit is a double din unit that has 5v preamp outputs that power the factory amplifiers found in the driver side kick panel which in turn power the door subwoofers.
the unit also has amplified outputs that drive the front and rear speakers.
that in mind, replacing the head unit simply requires a wiring harness such as the Metra 70-5521, which allows an aftermarket headunit to be plugged into the OEM harness, which in turn powers the factory amps/subs and speakers. you also need a 12v->5v voltage regulator, to trim down the output voltage of aftermarket head unit from 12v to 5v which the factory amp runs on.
the metra harness i suggested is not essential, but it makes life easier as you won't need to cut and splice through the OEM wiring harness to plug a new head unit in.

Once again thank you. Im double thinking about swapping heads now. I have a really nice head unit.
