I'll just run the wire up to the radio and tap into it.

I will wire mine to map light. No need for switch. just unplug it.

Thanks for telling us how it went - well done.

You other guys hooking into the map light, try to beat me to the install and tell us how it went (with pictures). I'm lookin at installing a simple button switch directly into the map light housing. My Escort is due in any day now... But I can't get to it this weekend.

I wired mine to the map light. My radar has an off and on switch. No pictures, I did it back in Oct. The wire for the detector came with an inline fuse. I just found the hot wire and hooked that with a connector and drilled a small hole in the roof brace for the ground. Used a small screw to secure the wire. Works fine for me....

As I said, great timing, Installed my escort RD just like you did. Ran the cord over to my drivers side and up the visor.

Spotted on serious radar trap already!
