racing stripes question
i plan on ordering my stang sometime soon, a GT/CS, i was wondering of the dealer itsself does racing stripes or do they outsource their stripes to another place. I want to get these painted on and included with the price of the car, but the thing is, i want a hoodscoop with the car and the online builder thing doesnt allow hood and stripes at same time
any comments/help is appreciated =D

It's probably up to each dealer weather they do it in house or outsource for the vinyl stripes. If you are asking about painted I would say if the particular dealer has a collision/auto body center then they likely do it there.

I bought my stripes online at Baltimore Street Mods and had my dealer install them before I took ownership. They have there own body shop and they had no problem installing them. Here's a couple of pics of their work.

I would check the dealers previous work. You should ask questions too, like do they extend the stripe over the back edge of the hood, etc. Do the pull the front and rear bumber covers off, and remove the grill from the front cover? A lot of shops take a short cut and stop short because its easier. its a minor detail, but it makes a big difference in the final effect. Also do they blend the edge of the paint stripe so there is not a hard transition edge? Mine was clear coated over and then buffed down. These details cost more because of the extra time. What you get / accept depends on your acceptance standards and desire. Joe Meiers Ford here in Houston is (or was) doing paint stripes thru their shop. They are a Roush dealer. They stripe painted some of the Roush's. The paint job was so bad I was surprised they were bold enough or able to actually sell them ... some owners standards are lower I guess.
Good luck with your decision.

Yes, they are Cobra wheels. The tires are Falken ZE-512 255/45ZR-18 from Discount Tire. As far as the stripes, they are 3M vinyl stripes and they seem to holding up good so far. The cost was lumped into the rest of the work that the dealer did, so I'm not sure of the actual cost, but I would estimate that the cost was around $300.
Thanks for the compliments,
John
