Quote from Auto Alliance Employee

I can see that already .. but here is a quote from a guy that I am friends with who works at Auto Alliance (I asked him what he knew about the car):
The early 05 part on the Cobra might be news, not sure though. Wish I had pics
I actually haven't driven an 05 yet, but my boss at work was able to take one home for the weekend about a month ago and he said that its a big improvement from the previous Mustangs. The interior to me is one of the best things about it, the gauges on it are pretty retro in appearance. They look like something out of the Mustangs in the late sixties. I guess we're going to start building the Cobra in early 05 and the rumor is 500hp, that'll be the one to look out for. I'll try to get more info for you, i've only been at this plant for about 5 months, with all the layoffs at the plants i've been bounced around and i'm not completly settled in here yet, it's my 3rd plant in 5 years with Ford. But anything i hear about performance, or if i get the chance to drive one, i'll let you know how it goes.

hmm thats great news, mostly because the Cobra's are supposed to come out as 2006's. So they would probably build a few Cobra test mules to get everything right on the cars. That will probably be done in early 2005. So it seems like they are on target at the moment then. I wish you had pics too.

Still on target though. Plus it seems like they will probably do almost 8-9 months of testing with the Cobra mules like they did with the '05s... Maybe even longer, to test out how different engines fit and work in the new bodies? All I know is that, I've always said that I can't see Ford holding off on the Cobra's until late 2006 so it could be sold as a 2007. Unless it's in fact a 2006 1/2 car. Even then that's a hella long time just to put out an SVT Cobra model IMO. But hey that's just me.

Maybe Ford is waiting to see what BMW and GM are coming out with (new M3 and Z06)?
I see a gap wide enough for a special edition.
