unfixable. Toss it and get a new one.

Yup! Already ordered a new one. It'll be here tomorrow.
Wife hasn't been able to tell me exactly how it happened. I had to drive her truck for a couple of days for work, therefore she was able to drive the Mustang.
She didn't discover it until it caught on the car cover yesterday morning.

Some human involvement might be suspect.....that's not the everyday nail casually picked up on the street by the everyday driver. Several years ago, I had a new Explorer and found one similar in the rear tire and found out who put it there.

Why do you guys think that is not fixable? I had a piece of metal punctured a sidewall before leaving a 1/2" gap and they were able to patch it from the inside. Looks to me you only have 2 holes in that tire and that should be able to be patched.

Apparently someone is "nailing your wife on the side"...![Wink](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

It's not worth it to try to patch a tire like that even if you can find someone who will try. My safety is worth the price of a new tire to me. Does your tire warranty cover it? I know some of them cover unfixable punctures. They base the coverage on how much tread is left, and if your tire is practically new...

At the moment replacing orignals is all I can afford. Next time I'll go for widers.
I've been taking my cars to America's tire for years. they all might be a little to amped up for me, but I always pay good prices and get the lifetime guarantee.

I can see how that can happen. Weird stuff happens on the streets when nails, etc get bounced/rolled by your tire going over them, especially if its in a turn.
I once picked up a freakin' SPARK PLUG that went into a $180 BFG Mud Terrain tire on a pickup truck - in the REAR tire! Didn't even see the stupid thing laying on the road and it went in just as I crossed a Railroad track.
It went straight into the tire between two of the lugs. Of course, this happened as I'm heading to the airport to pick up my son who was coming home from the Army. :bang: Like I had all sorts of EXTRA time to change a tire like that which I didn't because I only had FOUR tires of that size on the truck - the spare was the stock size (245-75-16's) where the BFG's were LT265-85-16's.
I limped to the tire dealer on the stock size spare and bought another brand new BGF, having only bought the other one's less than a week before. :bang: :bang:
Finally made it to the airport though... my son only had to wait bout an hour.

You can't plug a sidewall, that's just how it is
