Mods - not sure if this should be in Exterior Mods section or here....please move if necessary!
I'm considering I102XLR8 for my license plate. If you pulled me over for speeding, would you be more likely to:
1. Give me a ticket, because with a plate like that I'm asking for it.
2. Commend me for being clever, let me go with a warning.
3. Wouldn't influence you one way or the other.

um WHAT?? Personalized plates should be easily understood otherwise what's the point? That looks like a California random plate with all the spaces filled. Reminds me of a frasier episode where the father gets a personalized plate RDWRER, nobody could figure out it meant "road warrior"

I'm not sure if you referring to Tony's response, or saying you don't understand the plate.

you think that's bad, mine's going to say a variation of EATDUST
My girl came up with it since my name is Dustin. In NH, custom plates are only an extra $25 a year. Everybody has them here.
If anybody in NH steals this idea from me and takes the plate, you're going to be in a world of hurt

Let me ask you this....would you wear a shirt that says BNKROBER as your robbing a bank?
Ok..bad analogy. B)
Police could care less. They just want to influence behavior to bring down the accident stats and since speed is one of the biggest factors....

Hmmmm.......pretty good actually, I'd be inclined to go with #2. But....it's court you'll have to watch out for. That plate (almost a signed confession) + speeding probably = guilty, might as well pay up and get it over with. Had a good laugh at the post though, with that sense of humour you'll do OK.
Ok first off, nobody will figure out what it means to hold it against you in court. Secondly, everybody "tends to accelerate" if that's what your plate actually means. That's how you get the car moving. Thirdly, what your license plate says has absolutely NOTHING to do with any court proceedings involving a ticket. Our courts work on an incident basis. Either you're guilty of speeding THAT TIME or you're not. What your plates say, or who you are are legally irrelevant in a court of law.

It wouldn't influence me either way. I pretty much give warnings to people. Your attitude during the stop is more likely to influence me than the plate. But then again like I have posted before I don't make hardly any traffic stops unless I am looking for warrants or something else important.
Hope this helps,
James
