PTP Here to stay...

Backstory...
I order a 2007 GT with Black/DOVE PTP package.
But what i received was not what the order guide stated.
Basically the PTP Black/DOVE is actually SAP of the same color.

My dealer had a discussion with a Ford Canada Rep this morning. Who confirmed that the way the packages have been shipping is the way they will stay. And the order guide will now be changed to relfect the proper color combos.

The News...
So as it stands the PTP package will be:
BLACK/BLACK, BLACK/CHAMOIS, BLACK/RED
-this consists of the seats being all one accent color. with same color door inserts.

And the SAP pacakage will be:
BLACK/DOVE, BLACK/PARCHMENT
- this consits of seats being all Black, with Black door inserts.

So looks like Ford decided to save money and use their current stock. Cheap bastards.

And i still need to decided if i want to keep my 2007 GT the way it is. I told them to change the Satin Aplique to Charcoal at least. But they would not because it would require the removal of the aribag assembly. Which costs too much. But they are willing to throw in the PTP package at no cost. Great $400....they could shove it.

Other option is to reorder the car. But now i'm told, any new orders won't arrive until end of Sept. Just in time for winter!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hope they throw in some snow tires with that deal.

Thanks for the info! They really screwed up the distributed info on this one big time.

So if you reorder, what are you going with?

When I was considering an 06 model, I talked to the dealer about switching out the satin dash panel for a charcoal one, on a lot vehicle.

The salesman and I went into the body shop to talk to the body shop mgr. who reacted as if it was no big deal. They later called me with a price of $500 to do it. I am not really sure, but since no one mentioned airbags to me, possibly the airbag assembly does not have to be tampered with.

If they are willing to give you a $400 PTP for free, they should be willing to switch out the panel for free. If it were me, I would verify whether or not the airbag assembly has to be tampered with. If not, I'd ask again and maybe push them a little.

Just a thought. Good luck. (I ended up getting an 2007 vehicle and never took them up on switching the panel.)

Cannonballer:

I also ordered the PTP black/dove with the satin alluminum. Like you, I was expecting the reverse colour scheme. I assume that the satin aluminum doesn't look great because there is no much contrast with the grey dash or they clash and the charcoal would look better becasue of the contrast?

One other question: is the dash top black?

Thanks

Well i've made the executive decision....I will take the car.

I thought of going to the parts dept and getting a schematic of the dash replacement. Still might do that.
However i had a long hard stare at the satin dash and compared it to pics of the charcol. Overall either dash makes so difference in the look of the interior. They both have their own feel. True the charcoal has more contract. But somehow the satin takes away from the cheapness of the dove color. It does look better in person then on the pics.

I'm gooin to get the PTP option thrown in for free, plus they will change that stupid cheap looking shift **** back to the orginal one with the silver middle. And i'm trying to get an engine cover out of it to.

I could get my car re-ordered any way i want. There is no problem with that. I know for a fact that my dealer can sell this car as is to the next guy. And Ford even told my dealer that they will take the car back if he doesn't want it. So the demand is pretty high and Ford can't keep up. Specially with the GT, 5spd and Fan or Buillit wheel combos. But unfortunetly ordering again will take another 2 months to get here.

Now of this was a Focus, i'm sure they'd be tripping over themselves to push the car on me give in to all my demands.

According to cannonballer, this pic would be SAP not PTP.... but i'm so confused about the difference between the two, I'm glad i'm not in the market for an 07... i would be so frustrated by not knowing what was what.

Is the build it website correct as far as the interiors are concerned?

No, the web site is WRONG!! That's the whole point of Cannonballer's post is to inform everyone that if you order dove PTP, you're getting what I have posted a picture of in this thread, NOT what is listed in the order guide!

As for the difference between ISAP and PTP, with ISAP you do not have to get IUP and you don't have to get leather. The color scheme is the same though. Also with PTP you get the "wrapped & stitched" console lid, armrests and dash.
