what is the difference between a procharger and the procharger with the aftercooler??does the aftercooler really make all that much a difference for an extra $1000??i have a price quote from superchargersonline.com for $3326 w/o the aftercooler and $4224 with it....any help would be great, or if you know where i can find it cheaper....thanks alot

 

Well after much research on superchargers I've read that there are two benefits to the cooler. And it depends on you which is more important.

One the cooler would allow you to run faster as the air would be cooler and more dense. This would allow your tuner to adjust your tune for this to make more HP.

Two (and this would be my more important reason) it's better for your engine as the air is cooler which lowers heat and allows for a more stable fuel/air mixture.

Anyone here that's more in the know please chime in. This is just from what I've read on this and other forums.

Bottom line though... from what I've read... if you care about the longevity of your engine get the cooler.

 

Cant you also use methanol injection with the superchargers to cool the boost? if so with the intercooler/aftercooler plus the methanol injection would be pretty cool

 

I've read about a couple guys who blew their engines on that type of setup with our cars. Something about the fuel being more volatile... I personally wouldn't do it.
