Problem with cam cover install

We decided on a do-it-ourselves install of some powder coated cam covers on the ‘05 GT. The right side install went OK. On the left side, we were cutting/cleaning the little rubber piece between the accessory cover and the block, when the razor blade slipped and fell down the front accessory drive. It sounded like it fell all of the way down. We bumped the engine over several times with no noise or problems. We have started the engine now and everything seems to be OK. We believe that it has fallen into the oil pan. So, how safe are we to leave just leave it alone in the oil pan?

that`s a problem......must find out where it went down into...might have to pull your oil pan...

Oil Pan

Pulling the oil pan will not be that hard. It will be worth the extra work and save your engine.

Is it possible for it to even get to the oil pan?
Funny, I dropped mine when doing the same thing. But I was able to retrieve mine.
