Problem with AVIC-D3 and Shaker 1000
I just installed a Pioneer AVIC-D3 in my car. It had the shaker 1000 system and now the subs in the trunk are not working. Has anyone had this problem or know what to check? The kit I got from Crutchfield had two harnesses, the main one and then a smaller one with one set of rca's. The car had 3 harnesses on the original head unit so I called Crutchfield and they said that the other one is for optional equipment like a cd changer etc. and that I would not use it. I would think that the subs and the amp in the trunk for the s1000 would be on the optional harness but they said no. Any ideas?

Try AVIC411.com. An amazing amount of info and very insightful users. If I remember correctly you might need a tap to power the amps, but don't quote me on that one.

I don't have that particular head unit, but I have a Pioneer, so maybe you'll have the same options as mine. Go into the audio options menu and mess with the staging and EQ menus. My Shaker 500 subs don't work without staging turned on.

I would think Crutchfield should be able to give you more detailed info regarding this. I do know the Mach 1000 has quite different terminations compared to the Mach 500.

Well, I got it working. It turned out to be a simple fix. The wire that sends a signal to turn on the amps(SYS REMOTE) was not making a connection so the amps were not turning on. Works great now, this is an awesome head unit!!!
