pricing opinions and cylider head check please

what do you think this car is worth.

08 gt vert manual. austin, tx

it has got me seriously considering it cause it does not have black interior and it has the fixed heads. at least i think it does. the window sticker says a build date of 1/25/2008. does that mean it has the fixed heads?

window sticker

the sticker does not show 3.55 axle gear. does that mean it has 3.31s?

the kbb shows a private sale "good value of 21550. im thinking max of 22000? or is that to high?

what i mean is mid year 2008 they change the head design to fix the spark plug issue. it was supposedly fixed by putting new heads starting build 12/07 so this one should have new heads.

i found out it has 3.55s.

and no im not paying excelent. and i wont even pay retail. i go off of private sale. even if it is on a lot. reason being is if you trade in all most dealers give is kbb trade in fair for just about any condition. i may have to go look at it saterday.

i wanted a 2011(who doesnt) but verts are so dang expensive. and i know if i do a 11 i wont have a lot to mod. this way i can make it how i want it.

thanks for the input. any others?

Good info, didnt really think about the head swap. Had my plugs out three times already and not a single issue. My build was one of the first tho late 07.

Dont blame u a bit about wanting to pay private, i was more so asking a question to verify it is indeed in exc condition ( ie, new, not used).

Good luck on saturday.

can someone verify this? is the whole COP brown or just he boots?

to tell you the truth. i was very put off of the the salesman. i liked the car ALOT. they put new brakes, filters, oil change and new tires on it.

But when i shot the man a offer that I knew was a little less than fair hoping we could meet somewhere in the middle. i got a major attitute. I had told him that i was maybe getting a 11 instead and he said that the 11s were going to drive the prices of 05-09 up because everyone will be demanding huge markup on gts and they will get them all day long. I said paying markups on a mass produced vehicles are for idiots. That and he tried to tell me that his dealership was the only dealership in central tx that sold cpos. I mean come on.

so in the end, i may not even get the car. ironically i would prob pay close to what they were asking cause of the condition of the car. but his head games pissed me off.

The red GT is a good looking vert. Really sweet color combo.
I think you are getting too concerned about the "new heads" issue and it makes the search for a used car way too difficult. Look for low miles and minimum mods IMHO.
I have a '07 tungsten grey GT vert with tan interior and tan top. Tan is a great color, but can show signs of rubbing and dirt on carpet and the vert's top. Get black floor mats for sure.
If the salesman bent you the wrong way, go talk with another one, your best revenge is him blowing a sale to his co-worker.
Good Luck, you will love it!!

yea. i dont have to have the new heads just makes it nicer if im going to buy cause i know im keeping the car for a long time. i wont sell it like i did my last vert. i miss it so.

i think in the back of my mind i want to stall buying a bit cause i want to drive a '11 to decide if i want to wait to find one of them. just the price difference it amazing. 23K for used 08-09 or 36-38 for a 11. thats another car difference

You have to get what you want or you will regret it. Nothing worse than climbing into a vehicle everyday that you can't stand just to save a couple grand. Test drive the '10, '11 and '08. You will know for sure after that.
Good luck in your search

thanks i will. i have already drove a 2010. i like the interior better but i like the exterior of the 08-09 better.

i could not really tell the difference between power wise between a 08 and a 2010 even though i know there is.

thanks for the input. ill wait till i can drive a 11 gt. if the 08 is still not sold i may still take it. i did drive a 11 v6 and i choose a 08-2010 gt over it cause of the lack of low end power on the v6
