Power Window Clunk? (FIXED!)

Anyone have the problem of the power windows going down excessively fast?

If I don't stop my driver's side window before it's completely down, it slams against the stop with a loud clunk.

Is there any adjustment for this?

Sounds like your window has lost its presets for the auto-down feature. Check your owner's manual for the procedure to reset it.

Mine have clunked from time to time. I don't know from when but my car is over 5 years old and the windows still work fine.

The next time you hear it clunk look to see if the window is below the top of the door. If so you need to hold the button in the up position for a couple of seconds after it reaches the top. Then press the down button & release. If it still clunks repeat & it should reset.

Window does go below the felt level with auto-down. I tried the above procedure several times with no success. I'll have to try and find something in the manual.

I've had my car for almost 6 years, and it's always done that from time to time. I haven't seen any harm come from it. It always seems to fix itself.

Take the door panel off and get a 10mm, I think, socket and tighten the bolts where the regulator atatches to the door. I had one of mine come loose. It would clunk when stopping and also rattle when door was closed.

Check out my original post, I found the TSB and it fixed the problem. Windows now go down without the annoying clunk!
Here's a pic of the under hood relay/fuse locations. I found it easier to pull these compared to disconnecting the battery.

Thx
