I was under the car today and the crimped ends (where the hose transitions from rubber to metal) were black from power steering fluid on the high pressure line that feeds the rack. The level in the tank has slowly dropped to the min. level. The fluid (from the leak) has slowly migrated to the steering rack itself, and it is covered in a dirty film.

Now, if the car had 10K miles on it, I would not think too much of it. Just normal wear. But my car has 3K miles and I baby it. This amount of leakage seems excessive.

I checked this site for TSBs, but did not see any. Before I take it to the dealer, I want to see if anyone here has noticed unreasonable leakage...

It's leaking, take it back. Dealer has no option but to fix it. It shouldn't leak even at 50k miles.

So far with 3k, I have no leaks.

Thanks - that is what I will do, although it will be spring before I do it. I just put it away for the winter today...
