The 427 engine produces a tremendous 590 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and 509 foot-pounds of torque at 5500 rpm. This Ford powerplant about 70 lbs lighter than the 5.4L V8 Mustang Cobra R engine. The 427 achieves this "WTF" power-to-weight ratio through a whole lotta engineering jargon: a Siamese bore aluminum V-10 engine block (based on Ford's modular V-8 DOHC engines), Ford-pioneered metal spray process to maximize the bore at 95mm, newly designed lightweight forged aluminum pistons with a very short compression height, aluminum cylinder head derived from the SVT Cobra R Mustang and new billet H-beam connecting rods, billet steel common pin crankshaft for increased strength without the need for a balance shaft and lightweight hollow stem valves.

yup i was wrong I meant the forty-nine uses one
Everything high end will most likely end up with the 6.2 big-block 8 eventually.

You are correct.
I was refering to the fullsize, as a previous poster wanted to know if OJ killed the Bronco, and when it was last produced.
