pony pkg owners, are keeping a secret

If you haven`t got your new mustang yet and your opting for the v6 don`t miss out on the pony pkg. The handling of this option is worth every penny. I just did a trip through the mountains of Utah and Colorado and there wasn`t anything it couldn`t handle. The routes I had the best time were US 6 from Provo to Green River Utah and Durango to Colorado Springs. lots of winding canyons to really shake it down. GET OUT THERE!

Unless Im mistaken, the pony package doesnt have any suspension upgrades. Why would it handle better, unless its going from a 16 to 17 inch wheel?

I think its the best looking package as well. Even colors I could care less about like Windvail blue look stunning. We have one with a white side stripe that looks better by far then the GT version. I think the black rockers look better too. A dark green GT with black rockers and the pony grille would be the business. Pony is the bargain of the yearl, if you figure its about $700 for abs/tc and $250 for the sport exterior package with the stripe and spoiler versus the pony package-Its about $200 bucks extra for the grille/fogs, set of GT 17" wheels and tires(with the pony emblems no less), GT sway bars, and side Pony emblems you'd be nuts to buy a V6 without it.

Bargain of the year for sure. I almost bought one, but I had to have a V8.
I did get the corral [attachmentid=47044]

I would have to most Definetly agree with you on the Pony Package.
I love mine and she just loves to take them curves and corners like they were nothing
The that pony Grill is just the icing on the cake.

With the 06 models you couldn't get a convertible Pony Package with the manual transmission...does anyone know if the 07 Pony 'verts will be available with a manual? I'd love to have one but I'm afraid I'd miss the manual transmission way too much.

I must be the only one who doesnt like the grill.

No you're not. I almost bought a V6 Pony Package, with the intention of upgrading the grill, rockers, an front/rear bumpers to GT. Then I saw the light and just bought the GT!

Does the pony pack have the same shocks as the GT?
I have an 06 Tungsten Pony Pack & it handles great, but never sure about the shocks.

I have heard this but don`t know for sure! I was originally told the pony pkg was a GT suspension, but I later found out no t-lok as the GT has. Maybe the shocks aren`t either. The sway bars are GT for sure! I think the springs are GT too.

When I first heard about the pony package I was very mad that I hadn't waited. But as you say, for some unknown reason, Ford decided not to allow the pony pkg on stick verts.
However according to the Ford website, you do not get the sway bars, or shocks or springs from the GT. According to the site you get:
Includes Pony grille with chrome bezel and fog lamps, rear spoiler, 17" painted cast aluminum wheel w/bright machined rim, Z-branded A/S tires & unique tri-bar Pony center cap, Pony front fender badges, lower door tape stripe available in black, white or pearl gold and carpeted front floor mats w/unique brushed chrome "MUSTANG" badge in 2006 interior colors, Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS) w/Traction Control.
Are you guys sure that it includes the sway bars?

I don't think the front shocks and springs on the pony package are the same as the GT, since the GT ones are made for the heavier V8. The rear, i'm not sure about.
