Just wanted to let you guys know about the Pony Drive write up in the May issue of Mustang Enthusiast:

"PONY DRIVE '05

David Turnball has done it again. He's put together a fantastic '05 Pony Drive that you're not going to believe. The caravan David has in mind will be extra-special because the owners will all be taking delivery of their Mustangs Sunday, June 12 at the manufacturing plant, and Classic Design Concepts will be adding upgrades to the car's per each individual owner's request on Monday and Tuesday, June 13 and 14. After that everyone will gear up and head to the MCA show in Kansas City. Oh, we forgot to tell you the best part. David has arranged for participants who are ordering cars to receive Ford's X-plan pricing. The response has been fantastic, and X-plan pricing is being limited to the first 101 participants who purchase vehicles. If you're interested, contact David as soon as possible.
David Turnball, (954) 849-4999, www.ponydrive.us"

Again thanks to David for trying so hard to make this happen. Anyone heard from Ford on the cancellation yet? I have yet to hear from them still. :nono:

Will be interesting when people call or check the website and found out Ford pulled out. Hopefully, David will get more backing from Ford next year, but I can't blame him if he doesn't count on it.

No word from Ford. I don't expect any call myself. What could they say?
Sorry just does not cut it. I could have ordered in December and got an 05 GT Convert. for summer. Now the best around here is an 06 GT Convert. at the end of the year. The only good thing would be if next the 06 colors are better.

I hear you Jeff. I was just curious if they followed through with what they said they were going to do. The Pony Drive website has a letter from Ford also stating how they want to support the Pony Drive in other ways. :notnice:

Like you, I had planned on getting my GT Vert at the Drive. I pirposely did not order in dec or Jan. from a dealer for that reason. I order from a local delaer on 3/3, & he gave me a time frame of 3-4 months. After reading a few posts, I'll be lucky to get it by Labor Day.

I haven't nor do I expect to hear from anyone at Ford regarding the cancellation of the Pony Drive. That is just corporate BS. That same stuff that they gave David for 10 months. If I hadn't already been planning to purchse a Mustang in advance, I wouldn't have gotten one. Ford truly dropped the ball on this endeavor.

Check if they have an allowcation for one or it will be an 06 long after Labor Day.
I checked the other two biggest dealers in the area here and was told they will get no more 05 GT Vert.

We are SOL due to Ford pulling the plug at the last minute.

Yes, I don't buy into them calling us either. I will probably write a letter that they will shread but at least I will feel a little better. I waited buying my '05 while in Afghanistan because I heard about the Pony Drive, so instead of ordering in November over there I waited until I arrived back at the end of January.

I wish you all luck on getting your ponies quickly!

Not a peep out here, either. I've got my '05 on order and scheduled, but would've rather done the Pony Drive. Oh, well.

Unfortunately, the Enthusiast article was put in before we got the final news from Ford. Currently, the Pony Drive is moving along with the planning and I have been hearing from more clubs about their participation. It should be a lot of fun and I hope anyone near the route can join in for awhile. Even if you're not a member, come on out and see what we are all about. The event schedule is on the web site and the hotel list will be up this week. I only have 1 left to secure!
BTW- if anyone gets the phone call from Ford that we were promised, please let me know. I was told to wait for a call on Mar. 8 or 9, and I'm still waiting!!
