It's a stick shift and I shift at 2,500-3000 rpms under normal conditions. It's not the rpms, it's how far down you push your right foot!

I'll get a 140mph picture the next time I'm at the track Give me about a week or two and I'll update this post !

It's the RPM's. Definately. I don't push my foot down that hard but I rev it to 5k. That is why I am getting 12.

Well, if you really want to impress us, take a picture of that needle pointing to 140 MPH

.....and in your parents driveway !!! [/b][/quote]

The new Mustang has good brakes anyway.

Well I guess that I will have to deal with 16mpg because there is no way I am going to shift at 2500 and there is no way I am not going to slam my right foot to the floor every time I get a chance.......

If your not going to drive the crap out of this car then why did you buy it?

No sense in buying a 300 hp sports car if you are going to drive it like a Blue Haired old lady in an 82 escort.

I SAY LET THE PONY OUT OF THE STABLE!!!!!

Ryan- I don't have anything to prove on the street other than I am a responsible adult who drives a fast car. I bought the car because I like it, can afford it, and can afford to drive the $hit out of it at Road Atlanta whenever a track day is open

My days of ragging cars out on the streets of urban/suburbia are over dude...I got a wife and 3 kids now: I think they would like me to stay alive.

Besides, the track offers so much more in terms of experience and learning the limits of yourself, which are surely beneath the limits of the 05 Mustang GT.

:nono: Keep the "driving the crap out of it" off the streets, my kid is chasing that basketball down the driveway, you know?

I can appreciate your comments Doug as I'm married with children as well, but it doesn't prevent me from running mine to 6300 rpm in first gear and breaking the speed limit on a regular basis ....I'd really love to get more time in a nice safe legal environment like a racetrack as well, but it's not an easy option for some of us....It's not a matter of "proving something" in my book, it's just the fun of driving the car to the fullest. The Mustang wass made to be driven that way in my opinion....We should all just do it as safely as we possibly can....empty feeder roads late at night work well for my sprints up to 120 and back...happy driving everybody and be safe!

WHAT?! 2005 miles and your cheap, poorly designed cast iron ringlet pistons have not blown up yet??!!!

or

How did you get 2005 miles on a car you cannot fill up with gas!!

or

wow must have taken you years to do 2005 miles in that overated SLOW car!

...well you get the idea.

Getting sick of alot of the comments I've seen on other sites about how horrible the 05 is.

and just because you guys may not understand my sense of humor, that was sarcasm. Seems everyone on other sites have been bashing the 05 so much, they've gone beyond rumors and started just making things up anymore. I really think in this case it really is jealousy, and who can blame them I'd be jealous too if i didn't own one

im really impressed with the mileage that you guys are getting. I would never have imagined that the 05 was capable of such mileage. I mean there are a lot smaller engines that get a lot less than that. Our last windstar didnt do much better than that, and i can guarentee it wasnt as fun as an 05 GT.
