Pics of my 07 GT (56k BEWARE!)
Finally got around to installing some mods on my 07 GT! I installed the E&G Classics "Heritage" grille (without the mesh backing), MRT hood struts, MGW door locks, e-break handle, and coat hangers. All the instillation went easy enough, except the MRT hood struts...
About an hour after instillation, I went outside to take some pictures of the finished product. As I opened the hood, I heard a snap and the hood shook. The drivers side strut completely broke off the fender and was swinging freely. I'm in contact with MRT to get a fresh set... perhaps I got a bad set. Has anyone else had a problem with their MRT hood struts just... snapping? There isn't a difference in hood clearance between 05-06 and the 07 MY that could cause the struts to snap is there?
Also... when installing the MGW door lock pins... what are the two sets of screws for? I couldn't for the life of me figure them both out... so I just screwed the silver top-screws into place and kept the others in a bag.
Sorry for breaking the forums... I don't know how to resize pictures. I can't wait to see what she looks like after her first coat of Zaino!
Anyway, as promised... here are the pictures!
Quarter shot..
Front shot. What do you think of the grille?
Hiney shot. Notice the V6 faux cap? I love it!
Another shot of the CDC ducktail.
Rear quarter shot...
Last but not least, an interior shot. MGW billet A/C ***** sure would look nice right about now.

Looks great, Nick!
Regarding the MGW door lock pins, the black (inner) set screw actually locks the door pin into position. Purpose is two fold, prevents the door pin from moving (up/down) and theft prevention at carshows.
The top silver set screw is cosmetic and also prevents stuff from falling into the pin opening.
You must have had a defective hood strut.
Was yours orientated this way?

Take a look at anyone with the MRT's (including their website) and you'll see that they have them positioned like my attached pic.
Since yours is the first breakage that I've heard of, I suspect it's the way you have them installed.

This is why I don't ever install things. I always it up.
Unless MRT is feeling extremely generous, it looks like this idiot is out $100. I will not be re-ordering, hood struts aren't worth $200.
And just for clarification... the picture provided in the instructions was too dark to tell orientation of anything, and I had no access to the web to look at any pictures.
Ah well... c'est la vie.

Contact MRT and explain that one of your new struts broke and you want a replacement strut sent to you ASAP and also include a return shipping label (for the defective one).
I would not mention the fact that they were incorrectly installed.
In the meantime, remove the other good strut and use the prop rod until your replacement comes in.
