Loving the car... one safety concern though - and I'm not sure if this is a single incident or across the whole line of cars. Basically the problem is that if I'm driving and my wife is in the passenger seat it will flick on and off b/c the sensor thinks that she's too light for the airbag (105lbs). If I sit there, no problem! (I'm ummm... heavier).

Anyone else had this issue?

It should be on for a 5'4" 105lb person right?!?!

Check and see. It is based on weight and seat position. Small children (not only weight but height) can get injuried. Maybe she falls into that range. I don't know those exact factors. Small children have had there heads removed, sorry to say with the old airbags. I'd have them put a new sensor in the seat and see.

See page 99 of your owners manual about the passenger airbag.
(at least, page 99 of the manual downloaded from this site)

My wife is the same weight and 5'-0". I get my car in any day now. I will let you know if I notice the same thing. That is her big concern too.

Since there are different setting between the power of the airbag depending on weight, maybe this weight is the dividing line between high and low power.

My is 100 and 5'3" its not a problem. Both seats have the weigh and position sensors. It just lessens the force for closer setting or lite weigh drivers or passenger. Small chidren and infants are another setup you must follow. Hence the passenger side Air Bag you can turn off for child type car seats or if you have dog or something else on seat that you do not want the bag to activate.

Totally offtopic, but where do you find all these small women? I'm a short 5'7" and would love to have some shorter girls around but alas, I live in the wrong country.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I found my wife, then moved here. But I think all the steel smog has stunted the growth of most people around here.

Even the houses felt short to me. I am only 6', but some of the older homes just seemed to have low ceilings.

Funny, my mom-in-law, wife, and mom are 4'-10, 4'-11, and 5'-0 respectively.
