Hmm thanks for this info! Do you have any more info on this test that the dealer did? The more ammo the better. Does you friend have an 05 mustang? if he does when was it built?
Yup, a Sonic Blue GT. Just tell them to have it pressure tested, if the paint fly's off, something wasn't done right. The body shop will know what to do

I've got the same problem. It absolutely drives me nuts  but I guess it is a small price to pay for the fun of driving this car everyday

Plus, in my mind it's just more justification to buy the SS body kit. only problem is I don't think I'd be able to get into the driveway with the SS kit. Gotta take it at an angle as is and barely make it without scrapping the underside. Oh well back to the constant internal debat that is "which mod should be next"

How much would it cost, and would it be worth it to clear coat the car again when you picked it up from the dealer to maybe prevent or minimize this?

Not to say it that may or may not be a good idea, but you would want that extra coat all in one operation, as in addition to what the repaint may provide.

Two thoughts on that are: Extra Clear, as in too thick, can cause yellowing, especially on lighter colors. The thicker the paint the easiler to happen and larger a chip will be.

I would have paid for an extra 4th coat on my Cobra's artwork and the fascia repaint, I was told not needed, nor a good idea. The cost was minimal, the prep was the money.

If your paint is proven bad from the factory, I hope they do a good replacement.

wow this is a suprise for me!....i cant stand how thin the paint is on the new mustang. I BABY my car and i have 3 or 4 good dings plus a nice scratch from something mildly abrasive on my hood. I always use microfibers and wash them out after each use....i always thought it was a paint issue...im glad others are noticing the same!
