P0606 PCM Processor Fault Need Help!

Ok guys I need your help. Driving to work this morning my stereo went dead followed by my lights demming then a complete shutdown of my display....barely made it to work with the battery dead on arival.

Popped the hood and saw that the negative terminal was corroded, so we took the terminal off and cleaned the contacts. Filled the battery with water and charged the car up. On the way home I made a few miles and then my stereo went dead again, dash went completely dead..hell even my RPMs were reading 0 when I know I was at 2500. As I watched the battery needle slowly go down...I could feel the car losing power. Car finally started sputtering and limped to the side of the road. Got a jump and got it home barely.

Used an SCT tuner and ran the code only one found..... P0606 PCM Processor Fault. What does this mean? My mods are in my sig...car was fine last night...nothing changed...and today all of these problems. Could it just be my Alternator? Car has a 91 Octane tune for the mods in my Sig.

Any Help would be very much appreciated.

While I am no expert, sure sounds like an alternator. I think I would try to charge battery enough to reflash to stock, reinstall stock airbox and call a rolloff to take your pony to the dealer for evaluation. I don't think I would try to drive it any more from what you describe.

Anybody else has a better idea, please speak up!

When my alternator died, I drove like 20 miles just on battery. first the radio died, then my message center, then my gauges, then eventually the car sputtered and died.

Sounds like the same thing that happened to you. Your options are to get another stock alternator that will die, or you can get a PA Performance unit. I have the PA 200 amp version and has run strong for 25k miles.

I would take out your delete plates and put your stock air box back in and flash to stock. then take it to the dealer and have them deal with it

In the manual the code P0606 is : Powertrain Control Module (PCM) Internal Communication Error. In the diagnostic section it says it's a Register Readback Error and is probably caused by PCM damage or failure.

+1 for the alternator, if its gone and your battery is low or dead you could get all kinds of electrical problems and sporadic codes that would be meaningless. I would have the charging system checked out and then see if you have any codes afterwords.
