I know that the GT has wider tires and wheels........but is the overall height of the GT tire the same as the V-6 setup? Just curious, because no GT's have hit Longview, WA as yet. Sorry for the question, but I never really paid much attention to 'plus sizing', etc......and don't really get the total jest of it.

I used to work at a tire shop so you should feel comfortable believing me. Take the numbers:

GT = 235/55-17
V6 = 215/65-16

Basically what that means is that the GT's tire height is: 55% percent of 235 mm multiplied by two + 17 in.

And the V6's tire height is: 65% of 215 mm multiplied by two + 16in.

Not too bad, but you're going to have to do the math yourself. By the looks of it though, they're pretty close.

Thanks Chris..... I'm not sure if I'm doing the math right or not, but it seems that the total height of the mounted tire on the V-6 is 1" more than the GT, and thus fills the wheel well more??? This is not good if I'm figuring this correctly......I was hoping that it was the other way around and that the GT setup filled the wheel opening better.....

You got lucky. I did the math for you. They only differ by about 5 mm. The GT is bigger.

Geeezzz Louise....I need to go back to school . When you say the GT is bigger, you mean the tire stands taller, right-o? Thanks again.....
