Until now, the dealer was only able to tell me that my car was shipped convoy. Original ETA was 10/05.

Finally the other day they told me that they talked to their rep who was in touch with the ramp, and that they were told that there were some 2,000 cars that were being held for a quality issue, and that they were now down to about 200 that were still there. They said that they are priority shipping the cars and that it should be at the dealership within 5-7 days.

The car has been built for over a month and a half. I've seen pictures of it. It better get here soon.

Has anyone that was told their car was on quality hold taken delivery?

Is there confirmation of what the quality issue was?

 

I haven't received mine yet, but my dealer called me last saturday and said mine had an ETA of 11/20/04. I placed my order when Ford's order bank first opened. I was given the date of 9/28/04 as the build date. My dealer received the invoice for my GT shortly after the build date. My dealer said they finally found out the the QC issue was concerning the engine's head gaskets.

I'm still patiently waiting and hoping the arrival date of 11/20 hold's true.

 

My car was on quality hold and I received it 11/1. It was built 9/24 with a VIN ending 105101.

We had 4 on the quality hold from the original order, two came in 3 weeks ago, 2 are still in perpetual limbo.

 

Ordered 5/26. Vin #100654. Built date of 9/9. Ship date of 11/5. Scheduled to arrive 11/17. It's been a painful wait. The wait wasn't bad until I was told that the car was built, then it's like where's the car? Over two months ago the car was built, that's a long time to be sitting some where.

And I'm still waiting....

 

Mine was on the quality hold with an initial ship date of 10/02 and original ETA of 10/12. Built 9/14. I was told last Thursday that they had finally received confirmation that it had been pulled from the quality hold and was being shipped. Called back this Wednesday and was told that the ETA was today. 9PM...no car.

There is no way it was shipped 10/2 and it hasn't arrived yet.

 

My ship date was 10/02 as well. Grantsdale, that's what is listed for the car, but you're right obviously not what happened in reality. On the dealers paperwork it originally showed 10/05 as the ETA, but after that passed, it was updated to be TBD.
Hopefully Nicole getting hers is a good sign for the rest of us.

 

The GT I ordered in May and which was made in September arrived on Friday 11/12.

 

Mine also was the kiss of death 10/2 ship date ....


Mine has been shipped from the plant now and is waiting patientl to be laoded onto another truck somewhere and brought to me.
