This is for people who ordered their Mustangs. How long did it take from the date you ordered to having the car in hand at the dealership?
The reason is these dealers do not know how to order these cars :bang: I want a Sonic Blue V6 premium with exterior, interior sport appearance packages, Anti lock brakes/traction control and a 5- Speed
. The dealers around me don't have this in stock and a lot of them have racing strips that add on $2,200 dollars :notnice: don't get me wrong I like the stripes but not for that much money.
Anyway please respond![Thumb](https://themustangsource.com/forums/images/smilies/thumb.gif)
Please tell me if your order is a GT or V6. Thanks

You should really search. This is also in just about everyone’s signature on the forums. But to answer the question 6-8 weeks is the standard.
If your dealer doesn't know how to order a car, he won't be in business to long.

I am on the start of my 10th week - Clean and Unscheduled!
I am on the start of my 10th week - Clean and Unscheduled!
Ordered December 30th... Still waiting... They told me 6-8 weeks to, but I am past that and I don't have a delivery date yet.
I am beginning to wonder if this all a bad dream.

I assume you are talking about the manual? Keep in mind the auto is also five speeds, but in any case, they are trying to buy the most expensive car, to markup. Auto costs more, as do stripes, etc.

Hey Tim,
I received my DORA 12/01 as well.
Call your dealership and ask them where you are at on their
allotment list. When I called him in the beginning of February he told me I was number 3 on his list (allotment) and moving up. Ten days later I was serialized.
Of course this was the same guy who promised me that it would be here in time for my Wife's Birthday Feb 23rd.

Ordered 11/01/04 and STILL not even a VIN#! Good luck but be careful who you get it from. I too live here in Ohio and I've been told by several dealers that for some reason they aren't sending many new '05s to the Ohio region. Hopefully you'll have better luck than me.

On 10/20/04 I called two dealers, the first told me that if I ordered the car it would take between six months to a year to get the car, so I called another dealer that told me six weeks. My car was on a Temp Delay in Production (IUP and Spoiler) from 11/4 (day I picked up my DORA and VIN) until early December when it was scheduled for build week of 12/13. Took delivery 12/28

Ordered Nov 26th. Last 3 calls to dealer they said they would check and call back but surprise, no call back.
Have been looking for a car for my son in colllege. Wound up getting a Ford 500. Drove it off the lot for 19158. This dealer (who I didnt order the Mustang from) said he could get me a GT in 6-8 and would guarentee it in writing.
Called the dealer I ordered the Mustang from and said I wanted to talk to the top guy was tired of dicking around with peons who wouldnt call me back. Told the guy I talked to I just bought the 500 from another dealer and was ready to cancel my order from him if i couldnt get some info.. He called back next day said it had been accepted for production but didnt have a date. He had a VIN for it so I called and its scheduled for Week of Mar 14...
At least some light at the end of the tunnel.
