How long do you guys think it will take till delivery? i was told around 8-10 weeks by my dealer because the factory shuts down for 2 weeks or something. Also how long should i wait till i start to annoy my dealer for vin # and such.. one last thing, What is this DORA i keep reading about?

 

Welcome to the longgggg waitttt! 8 to 10 weeks seams about right. DORA stands for "Dealer Order Receipt Acknowledgment". Its what the factory sends the dealer to confirm a order.

There is "bugging" and then there is being reasonably kept informed on what is going on. I ordered mine about 2 1/2 weeks ago and found out today that the dealer cannot give me a Vin # or build date. I don't find this surprising since I ordered the IUP and spoiler. Our understanding is that they will let me know when they get some news. I believe them but intend to check back with them every two weeks or so given the production/scheduling situation Ford is in regarding the 05

 

I was told 8 to 10 weeks as well plus the shortage of the IUP is not helping and I was told it could add to the wait .But welcome to the "stand in line " process.

And the wait begins.. just got in line today and ordered my '05 GT:

GT deluxe, 5spd
Performance White/dk charcoal
options: shaker 500, side airbags, IUP

I woud have never picked white but for Mike and his virtual stripe machine (a thousand Thank You's Mike!). I put Sonic Blue stripes on the Performance White (stripe opt 2 - down the center and along the rocker) and it looks sweet!! My dealer knows someone that can make that look happen and I also plan on swapping out the stock wheels for the accessory chrome bullits to complete the look.

My dealer said there is only one person ahead of me that they have to place an order for then when they get their next allocation next month mine goes in. I was told Feb/March delivery. I'm in no rush.. I still have to come to grips with selling my '97 Silverado or my '35 coupe so this will give me time to pick one. I've had a '68 coupe, a '69 Mach, and a '92 vert and it's time to get a Stang back in the stables again!

 

sweet i cant wait. this car is gonna be awesome.
