Hmm...I'm thinkin the GT didnt really expect you to race, and thusly didnt race...

Or maybe he was just showin mustang love and you misinterpreted it...

Besides, what incetive did he have to win? If he told someone they would be like "Umm, and?"

Hmmm, maybe the GT driver saw the cop coming the opposite direction and decided to back off??? There's no way the 210 hp v6 beats a 300 hp v8 with only a slight weight variance. ...hey, why not share some of that stuff you're smoking with the rest of us?

Edit: Sorry dannygat, you're dial up modem must be faster than my cable modem

i don't have the engine specs in front of me, but i wouldn't be surprised if the 4.0 could take the 4.6 up to 40 or so, from a stop light. the 4.6 is definitely a top end motor, it's not like the old 5.0 pushrods that had great bottom end. the 4.0 has only six cylinders rather than eight for .6 less displacement...that makes for a pretty large bore and stroke on the 4.0 and the large stroke makes for great bottom end power. also, the 4.6 is considerably heavier than the v6.

to get a better appreciation for the 4.6 you need to see a power graph of where the motor makes it's power...i'll bet the lower rpm range doesn't make that much torque like the 4.0 does. just some things to consider, guys. jackg 90seville 95k

That is a bit of an extreme there. A better comparison would be saying sorry, your DSL connection must be faster than my cable modem

NO NO NO, I am sorry the GT does 0-60 in low 5 sec and the v6 in mid 8's no contest

there's alot to consider when comparing the performance difference between the two: another thing to remember is the 4.0 is a two valve design while the 4 valve on the 4.6 lends itself to better breathing on the TOP end; around town 4 valve engines can be dogs...they're only more efficient in the higher rpm range. remember, we're talking maybe a stop light to stop light situation, then it's all over: the 4.0 runs out of breath. another spec that idon't have in front of me that might shed some light on the comparison would be the tranny gear ratios between the two. every little bit helps. jackg 90seville 95k

consider you dont know about mustangs
the GT is a three valve
and there is nothing more to consider when you look at the 0-60 times of both models
