Hi all. First off let me start by thanking everyone. Info on this site really helped the decision making and ordering process go by much smoother.

1. Ordered an 06 GT on x-plan. Got a priority of 10 (wow). Guy said there are 12 orders before me. When can i expect to take delivery?

2. Gettin the x-plan thru my mothers work. Dealer said its only applicable to her companys employees and their spouses. And that shed have to co finace with me. But ive ssen on here that people are giving away x-plan pins, if thats the case why cant I use my mothers pin?

The dealer is wrong, it's not just spouses. Any friend or relative of a ford employee can use it. He's just trying to get you to pay full price. I'd call him on it, and tell him you will simply go somewhere else that will take it.

Sorry forgot to mention that she doesnt work for Ford. She works for a company called Sodexho.

Reading his first post, his Mother is not a Ford employee, she is only given X-plan. If she was Ford, He could have A-plan, unless she has used them all for this year. X-plans given to suppliers are only to be used by employee or spouse.

Yes, Ford employees x-plans can be given to anyone.

gerstang Just make a post and ask for an X-plan. Someone may come forward and help you out so all can be in your name.

The dealer is lying to you. Anybody with a pin can get X-Plan.

It is however the dealer's discretion if they want to sell a vehicle under X-Plan or not. I had to call five dealers before I found one that would take it. I'm going in to order my car next week.

This guy is wrong, if you are a priority 10, that is usually the highest level that a dealership can assign. 1-9 is reserved for "special" orders.

Also, the X plan is good for any friend. You do not have to be "related" to the person giving you the pin #. I was not related to the guy who's pin I used.

I would call him out on both fronts and tell him you'll be happy to find a different dealer.

To your first question; my understanding from talking with a few dealers is that it usually takes 2-3 weeks (maybe longer?) to get "serialized" (VIN assigned) and a build date assigned. Then it takes 2 weeks to build the car, 2 weeks test/QA and 2 weeks for transport/delivery. I'm not sure if this is totally accurate, however. I ordered 7/12 on X-Plan with a priority of 10 and am expecting a VIN any day now!
