when you order a vehicle that is "new" like the 05 stang would be, how much time does it take for the order to go through,? The reason being, I'm waiting till December to order, so I can pay off a couple of loans that will basically cover cost of mustang and insurance. Just curious to know if I'll be in it before March.

People I know have waited anywhere between 10-12 weeks to get the Mustang, from the day they order it.

I think there will be huge demand for the '05, so what may happen is the wait will be longer because of a backlog.

I plan on ordering late december/early january. If I get it before the snow clears up, i'll let it sit in my garage for a few weeks.

thanks, I was already figuring 2 - 3 months, so that's good to hear from people who have actually ordered new. First brand new off the lot vehicle for me. Although I have been through a few vehicles... 94 taurus (hey it was a graduation gift) 99 ranger, and of all things... another 99 ranger lol.

I ordered my 05 GT w/ the dark charcol int, IUP, alarm, and shaker 1000 yesterday with a delivery date of Jan 15th. I requested that though because I am in Japan currently and won't be back till then. And if you guys can, I saved 1000+/- off the MSRP price!!!

I know alot of you want to order cars, however must dealers can locate cars already built with the options you desire if you want get your car quicker once thet start showing up on lots and are in inventory at the dealerships once the iniatial rush is slowed down. I know I would like to order mine however once it is time to get it would be hard to wait 10 to 12 weeks.

Yea, but there's nothin like ordering one and tracking it through the process until that one day when the salesman calls. It's kinda like Christmas.

Hmmm... I ordered on Aug 9. My dealer said then and still says now "we should have it by the end of September"... That's all I have though. No DORA, no order #, no VIN, no build date...

... I don't even know what a DORA is

What would be even cooler would be seeing the vehicle truck on the highway and seeing your vehicle on it. I would follow it home!

I would not expect to see 05 Mustangs in volume on dealer lots until at least the beginning of next year. The cars that were allocated in May are for production into November for early December delivery. If you want a Mustang before the new year I would lock in an order ASAP.

I ordered mine on 8/17, what would be a good guess as to when it would be built? I think I read on here that the first batch they were going to build filled up right before that.

Thanks,
Tony
