one conclusion

We'll after having my stang since May of 2005 I have come to one conclusion that would be: the harder you try to keep the stang clean/dent free... the more stuff happens to it.. why is this???:bangh ead:

Goes for just about any car - the more one obsesses over it, the more one will notice those things, especially when washing it. Barring the major stuff, I keep reminding myself to just drive and enjoy the car. The only way to truly remain clean and dent free would be to not drive the car or severely limit when and where the vehicle is driven - and IMO, I wouldn't want to be "held hostage" to that.

I've been lucky..... It is my daily driver since Nov. '04 and I have no door dings. I did get hit by a road turtle once as an oncoming car somehow ran over it at the right angle, and it flipped up and hit the front end of my car and bounced over the top. Very minor little mark on the front bumper that isn't noticeable unless you know it's there.

eh, I have some scratches (on the bumper mostly, some that go all the way down to the urethane!) I have a dent or two, and some scrapes on the car. It doesn't bother me. But then again I'm in a big city, and I expect it to happen. So maybe thats why I'm so cool with it. If I were in rural Kentucky, I'd probably be more dissapointed about it.

I've had My 05 Mustang GT since December 28 04 and so far no door dings or dents. I do have problems with my Roush Front bumper scraping on driveways sometimes (bothered me at first, then I got used to it happening and simply try to avoid it as much as possible).
The Mustang has been by Daily Driver since new.

How much does a full professional repaint cost? Might be worth it to just factor one of those anually in the running cost of the car. Put a little aside each month for that purpose. How much does that cost? My stang was in a wreck a month ago and its still in the shop but when I get her back she'll have a full new paint job

Ok, there goes that idea. Now I'm going to be extra paranoid about my new paint job when I get her back.

And a body shop paint job chips 20 times easier that the factory oven hardened one.

Sheet happens. It happens to everyone. Enjoy your Mustang and just continue to do the best you can to protect her. Don't let imperfections take away the great feeling of driving your Mustang.
