Anyone else feel a twang when they are backing up and have their foot on the pedal? I though at first that maybe I just scratching the ridge in my driveway but I have plent of clearance. Then it did it too me on a flat parking surface.

Anyone else notice this?

Thumbs down

Uh-Oh...

I had the same thing happen to me. Turned out I had a snapped panhard bolt. Heard it a little when backing up...sounds like a quick "Zing"......THEN...the other bolt broke and it sounded like someone sawing metal. Have the bolts checked. Mine were over-torqued from factory. No hard launches or big bumps when the broke. Took the local shop 5 days to repair. Bolts were not in the system then and had to be flown from Detroit. They had to drop the gas tank and rear end. After that no problems.

Hope yours is easier than mine..

Jay

Doh! I need to call my dealership and about a scratch in my bumper. I'll mention it when I call. Thanks for the heads up.

I have a very steep driveway and when backing down, the first time I apply the brakes I here (and feel at brake pedel) a click or shifting as if stopping in reverse tourqes the calipers or some item in brake system.
if it gets worse, I may have to look into this

Lime05owner, the fuel tank and axle do not need to be removal to replace panhard rod bolts, only thing I can think of is, dealer BS'd you or it was tweeked so much and axle shifted alot, if this is the case more damage should of happened

The clunking you're hearing is the pads in the calipers shifting around a little... all cars do it to some degree. Even my last car, a $50k Saab did it BADLY. The dealership said it was normal and wouldn't do anything about it.

I have this issue on my car. It is not too bad, so I have ignored it for now. Not sure I can replicate it at will, so I have not taken it to the dealership.

I suppose I should follow up on this huh?

The dealership I took my car to decided that one of the lines was loose and a zip tie would fix it. They must have noticed something else because the twang/grind is still there.

I did talk to another friend and we concluded that it could be the breaks adjusting due to me being in reverse after previously in drive. It doesn't seem to be an issue and I've just gotten used to it.
